Sophie is currently mentored by the London Symphony Orchestra for a two-year period, focusing on developing her cello playing and orchestral skills to a professional level, with tuition from Eve-Marie Caravasillis.

This year, she has a place on the ‘Overture’ mentoring Scheme, with the orchestra of the Royal Opera House.

Her musical endeavours extend to freelancing with orchestras and chamber ensembles, and she particularly enjoys playing with the London City Orchestra.

She is currently studying for a master’s degree at Trinity Laban, generously supported by the Trinity College London Scholarship, the Joan Greenfield Scholarship and the Kochan Trust.

Sophie plays on a cello made by James Brown of Spitalfields, dating back to around 1810.
